The Camphor Tree features in the Studio Ghibli film, My Neighbor Totoro. Totoro lives hidden in the tree, but humans can only see where he lives if he wants them to.
Tatsuo also gets Satsuki and Mei to ask the spirits if they would watch over them.

The camphor tree is about 25 metres tall. It is an evergreen tree and produces clusters of black, berry-like fruit.
